MEQUON, Wis. – A pair of late goals from Concordia Wisconsin halted Earlham College field hockey's bid for the come-from-behind win as the Quakers dropped a 4-2 decision to the Falcons on Sunday afternoon at Tomasini Stadium.

CUW's Sam Dunn scored twice in the first quarter to give the Falcons a 2-0 lead, and carried that lead into the halftime intermission.

Earlham (1-1) rallied to tie the game on Schalk goals with 11:37 left in the third quarter, assisted by Sofia Salvatore, and a second goal just a minute and 36 seconds later. The Quakers would not escape the third quarter unscathed, however, as CUW's Donna Pitock scored what would ultimately be the go-ahead goal with 3:15 showing on the third quarter clock.

Dunn completed the hat trick with her third score of the game just over a minute into the fourth quarter, giving the Falcons a two-goal advantage.

Each team charted 16 total shots, with Concordia Wisconsin (1-1) holding a 10-9 edge in penalty corners. Murphy tallied five saves in goal for Earlham.

Earlham field hockey makes its home debut this Saturday, Sept. 7, when it hosts Wilson College at Darrell Beane Stadium. Game time is slated for noon.
